Memorial Day Weekend at Lucy's and Franz's!

Ah... Last weekend, our family went over to my mom's friends' house for a memorial day party.

All I can say is FOOD FOOD FOOD.

Enjoy the food porn, darlings.

Cheese puffs from TRADER'S JOE :)

BEST chips in the world. We have a large unopened bag... waiting to get devoured. Soon.

Salsa to go with the chips. :)

Their garden is absolutely amazing. They have so many vegetables and fruits and even GRAPES and a PASSION FRUIT tree. I have never seen a passion fruit flower. I agree with Franz: they are one of the most unique and beautiful flowers I've ever seen.

A new shoot. Isn't it beautiful? :) It makes me happy just looking at it.

Back to food. Lucy makes the BEST focaccia IN THE WORLD.

SALAD. So refreshing and delicious!!

Indian shrimp curry with coconut milk! SO GOOD.

And because Franz is German... there is of course, a few sips of beer. It was pretty light and refreshing. He gave/I stole some bottles because they are really pretty. (One of them is from the oldest brewery in the WORLD!) I think I'm going to put some flowers in these bottles, which are currently decorating my windowsill. :)

These corn fritters were TRULY GORGEOUSLY DELICIOUS. The corn was SO FRESH... Lucy said she had to go to a specific place to get it. Well, Lucy dear, it was WELL WORTH IT. :)

I HAD A MILLION OF THESE. Nothing beats these little bursts of sunshine!

This is my favorite part I think. Fresh strawberries with homemade whipped cream (which, now that I have tasted it, I shall conclude that it is INFINITELY BETTER than the crap that comes in a can). I must have eaten like 40 strawberries... But, no matter. I was happy and I didn't get sick! Teehehe

Then came the baklava. We had a tray with like 8 different kinds. Sweet, a bit like a piece of heaven.

Serena enjoying a goooood piece of baklava. :)

Lucy was very excited about this heart-shaped potato she found one day. She said she wanted to preserve it... anyone know how to preserve a potato? It does look like a little heart though... with a face!!

Ah... that is all, my dears. Hope you enjoyed them. And with all these... I think I'm going to go rummage through my cabinets for some food. I'm hungry now.

Now Playing: Battlefield - Jordin Sparks
(why does love always feel like a BATTLEFIELD?!)

Now Reading: Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex - Mary Roach
(which, though it sounds strange and perverted, is a truly amazing book about the science of the sex. Don't tell me you were never curious.)

BOOKS AND STAIRCASES

I've always loved books and recently I've come across a bunch of books incorporated into interior design.

These are literally amazing.

And now, as I am stumbling across all these amazing pictures, I have found some THRILLING photos of staircases. So, going off on a tangent...

Geezus... look at all those stairs...

WHEEEEEEEEE (I want this.)

For the skateboarder.

Levitated stairs... do you dare?
They look so clean and simple though!

Space! Storage! I love how they are slightly crooked.

Hanging stairs?

Waves of steel stairs.

Chunky, blocky, and excellent for tight spaces.

Whoa. Industrial. It acutually look me a while to find where the actual stairs were.

GLASS STAIRS!

Stairs to climb a mountain. Whew!

Love the dark stain. And it's supposed to be completely deconstructible so it will enver have to be destroyed. And good thing; these are so pretty.

Looks familiar? DNA STAIRS!

Whoa...whoa... WHOA.

Spiralling ... I would get so dizzy on these.

Stairs that look like they don't exist.

all staircase pictures from lorensblog (check out for more info) and abodesignco.

Conclusion: I'm going to have a staircase when I get a house. I don't care how small the actual place is... just I want staircases!!

a gatsby window

So at night, when I walk into my room, there's this green/red/blue flashing light in my backyard. It's really bizarre, because I CAN NOT figure out what it is... and when I walk towards it, it seriously just disappears. I feel like Gatsby.

I wonder what I'm missing in my life though. What am I wishing for?

Probably too many things.

Anyway, that aside, I think I love reading in candlelight. I'm probably destroying my already terrible eyesight, but well, shoot me. I love it. My sister says this picture looks like I belong to some cult. Tell her she's wrong.

Now Playing: 파니핑크 (Fanny Fink) - River
I LOVE this song... it's so relaxing...

love me more

Today was pretty uneventful, except I donated blood for the first time! It was definitely kind of scary, but overall it didn't hurt and was basically fine. I'm mostly just extremely tired and weak right now.

Hm... state testing going on now. My favorite thing in the world. AHH it's just such a waste of time... especially the science and history portions because everyone takes something different, and it's hard to standardize that.

Bleh.

I realized I have mostly stopped caring about this year. I feel so sick of everything. Summer is almost here and I can smell it in the air. But, I WILL TRY TO DO MY STUPID CALCULUS HOMEWORK.

Alright. That's it for me rambling.

I think I have fallen in love with these. They are so fun and ADORABLE. WANT WANT WANT!

On the topic of shoes...

from: elitechoice, shoeblog

Insane, no?
Apparently the heeless ones are comfortable...but I am skeptical. The first ones... just look painful. I don't even think they are meant to be worn. I actually like the second pair... but just, you know, insanity.

How to draw the line between functional fashion and just... art? Is fashion even supposed to be functional? Hm. Something to think about.

EDITORIAL FEAST!

Photographer: Luis Monteiro.
Model: JP.
Magazine: Tatler.

I really want to go to Greece now... teehee
I love the first dress: the dainty lace white of her dress complements the white builindg in the background, and aren't white boots just enviously beautiful?
The second picture - I love the bust detailing and how the more delicate lace pattern in the bustier (I LOVE bustiers!) is translated into a larger, firmer, lace pattern on the skirt.
And the last picture: gotta love the attitude! Also, the contrast between the white building and the black dress - lovely!

Beautiful, beautiful. The sexy allure in all these is absolutely delectable.
Love the fifth picture... she's revealing some gorgeously womanly curves!

Dark, dismal, wonderful.
The cover is AMAZING, as are the rest of the photos.
I especially love the photo of the shoes: don't they look soft and worn and absolutely gorgeous? They remind me of fairytale shoes from hundreds of years ago...
